Dr. Michelle Palmer-Espanol joined our office on April 28th, 2014. She was born and raised near Orlando and now resides in Boca Raton.
Dr. Palmer-Espanol graduated from the University of Florida with her bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the prestigious Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dentistry, and continued to study at Nova Southeastern University, where she completed a residency specializing in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Dr. Palmer-Espanol also holds a master’s for her research regarding orthodontic treatment outcomes according to American Board of Orthodontics standards.
Her active participation in advanced continuing education ensures that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is developed and performed according to the most exacting standards of modern care. Dr. Palmer-Espanol says she wants to help the office stay efficient and make sure we are treating our patients to the highest level of care.
She also stays up to date on the latest advances in orthodontics by maintaining memberships with many professional organizations, such as the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, South Palm Beach County Dental Association, and South Florida Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Palmer-Espanol attends several study clubs with other dental professionals to maintain peer relationships, learn about new techniques, and go over treatment planning in multi-specialty cases. As an Invisalign Premier Provider, she participates in many continuing education courses to learn about the newest in digital technology and clear aligner orthodontics. She wants to provide her patients with the best and most affordable solutions for their needs.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Palmer-Espanol has the unique ability to relate to her patients, whether they are children, teens, or adults. She is a competent, careful practitioner as well as direct, articulate, very approachable, and a great listener. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Palmer-Espanol and her husband, Francisco Espanol, DMD, met and studied together at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. (He is an endodontist in the region.)
She started dancing when she was two years old, and though she stopped during dental school, it’s something she will always do. She also enjoys going to the gym, learning how to cook new things, going to the movies, and finding new and exciting restaurants.
Maintaining a strong foundation with her husband, family and friends is important to her too. Dr. Palmer-Espanol “pays it forward” and offers help through the Junior League of Boca Raton. She does community service in the Boca Raton and Delray Beach area, mostly with children who are less fortunate. She also volunteers with activities at her church and helps collect supplies for back-to-school backpacks, shoes, and toy drives. She loves to help people and give back to the community.
